Reinvigorate, Inspire, and Grow Your Board

The last three years wreaked havoc on nonprofit board leadership nationwide, so if you’re struggling, you’re not alone! This interactive and engaging session will explore some underlying reasons why we’re seeing a decline in board participation, and offer concrete, practical, no-cost tips to re-engage your burned out or disengaged leaders and recruit new ones. We’ll find out what research says people are longing for to remain loyal and generous and how you can deliver that to them with ease.

Susan Howlett has been strengthening nonprofit boards for 45 years, as a trustee, staff person and consultant to thousands of organizations across the continent. Author of the award-winning book, Boards on Fire!, Susan has been lead faculty in the University of Washington’s Nonprofit Leadership Certificate for 30 years. She plans and facilitates about 40 board retreats each year, and speaks regularly at regional and national conferences. Susan is known for offering practical solutions to systemic problems, delivered with humor, stories, and chocolate.
