TMAA Connection

  • Your TMA Alliance membership offers opportunities for you to get involved with and serve the Family of Medicine within your community and beyond. Check out these volunteer opportunities locally and on the statewide level and reach out to TMAA to learn more.
  • Serve on a TMAA task force. These short-term commitments typically involve one to three meetings via Zoom to address an emerging issue.
  • Bring your talents to a statewide committee. TMAA committees, which meet via Zoom, address topics such as bylaws, finance, or membership.
  • Impact the future of TMAA by pursuing a seat on the Board of Directors. The board typically meets twice a year in person, plus a couple of times on Zoom.
  • Share your expertise with fellow alliance members as a speaker in the TMAA Enrichment Series. Previous guest speakers have included a dietician and leadership coach. What’s your special talent or area of expertise?
  • Take on a one-time leadership role at a TMAA conference – work registration, count votes at the Annual Business Meeting, or participate in a panel discussion.

Family of Medicine

  • Represent TMAA on a TMA board, council, or committee. TMAA members serve along with physicians and medical students in groups that address science and public health, socioeconomics, physician wellness, and more.

Community Outreach

  • Build a healthier community by coordinating an outreach event for your local alliance. TMA offers these ready-made programs to help you get started.

Advocacy

  • Join physicians, medical students, and alliance members during the legislative session for First Tuesdays at the Capitol  in Austin to discuss issues of importance to patients and physicians with your legislator.
  • Serve on the TMAA TEXPAC board for more in-depth involvement in grassroots advocacy as an influential voice for Texas medicine.
