Mission

The Texas Medical Association Alliance (TMAA) is a group of individuals passionate about protecting the future of medicine through community service and legislative advocacy. The Alliance -- consisting of physician spouses, physicians, residents, and medical students-- provides advocacy, community of support, mentorship, and lasting friendship in the Family of Medicine.

Advocacy

Each legislative year, the Alliance spearheads First Tuesdays at the Capitol, an award-winning grassroots advocacy program. Through First Tuesdays in the Districts, a program focused on forging relationships with local legislators, Alliance members work year-round on the legislative front to ensure their legislators and elected officials are current in health-related issues.

Community Health

Alliance members pursue several health education initiatives. Popular programs include providing low-cost vaccinations to children, teens, and adults; free helmet fittings and giveaways to children; and weekly walking events for patients and their physician. Additionally, county chapters host a variety of health and health education events that make a significant impact in their communities.

Fellowship

Joining the TMA Alliance doesn’t just mean giving to your community – it is also a community that gives back to you. Alliance members say one of the most valuable aspects of membership is the incredible support, friendship, and fun that the Alliance provides. But don’t just take it from us!
